Mötley Crüe - Madison Square Garden

Better than: Seeing them in most of their other tours in the past 15 years.

"If this does not work, I do not know where you would," said Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx in the middle of final NYC show of his band.

"Perhaps you would in a concert of Mumford and Sons." Sixx's quote and jeers from the audience after they were all in good fun, but that's the nature of a Motley Crue show. In the midst of the fire, the dancing, the steps that move, and jokes Mumford was three decades in good spirits and memories. For a full Public Garden, the 80 heroes of the book about their time together in closed metal hair. To Crüe, it is logical that the final chapter was excessively libertine party came out with a series of deafening explosions.

Out for the first time on stage, and just in time for Halloween on Friday, was the still--creepy macabre and Alice Cooper. The veteran rock shock comes equipped with more support, costume and set changes than most pop stars at all times. Decades of getting your head cut off by a guillotine have served Cooper; although the shock is gone, its spookiness is as timeless as the movies and Halloween specials in heavy rotation at the moment, just in time for the holidays.

Once the supports were cleared, the sound of music "So Long, Farewell" bleeding through speakers. It was a delicate nice game before, Mötley Crüe just before he dove into the heavy, raucous "Saints of Los Angeles". This new-ish song in terms of its timeline briefly felt like an odd choice, but Mötley Crüe was intent on celebrating until the last moment of his career from its beginning to its end, so every year it seems like one gold.

Of course, no shortage of memorable tracks for the band to choose for your setlist. Soon "Wild Side" helped the soundtrack to the arrival of the two female singers backup / dancers / roadies who made some Rocky Horror-esque moves as slowly slide into ever fewer clothes during the fair. As their clothes disappeared, the number of signals increased firearms and explosives; Flames pulled Crüe final level for each song, just trying to beat themselves.

By the time we got the talk from Nikki about how it was brought the band together in Los Angeles 33 years ago, who had already beaten '' Position, "Smokin 'Same Ol'" in Room for Children ', "and a heavy confetti "Without You". Sixx forced to sit the entire audience to their story, a story expertly given an Idaho boy slowly picking his future bandmates several dives and magazine ads all over Hollywood.

With each entry in your story, the Crüe today revealed themselves to the shadows lurking in during storytime. Nothing Sixx ended, the audience was eager to get back up and dance some more, and in honor of the influences of punk had said, Sixx and Co. pulled a cover of the Sex Pistols "Anarchy in the UK" before falling into "Dr. Feelgood", followed by highlight of the night, "Shout at the Devil". What made the latter as particularly amazing contraption was called together with the low shot Nikki allowing you to set your microphone hanging in flames while still hitting the bass line?

Mötley Crüe Rumbles Through The Motions; Alice Cooper Seizes The Moment

Headliners Mötley Crüe (above) and guest Alice Cooper (below) that takes place at night Xfinity Centre Sunday.

MANSFIELD - Mötley Crüe That remains not only around 2014, but capable of almost sold on Xfinity Center Sunday night has little to do with any lasting merit group's music may have had or any special resonance that allows his songs speak to through generations. It's because people liked in high school. And if the current tour the band is actually his past, then - to paraphrase one of the opening acts of the night - for the school to be forever.

Sunday night, the band seemed well overdue to graduate. "Too Fast for Love" seemed too fast for Vince Neil, who galumphed the stage so clumsily bassist Nikki Sixx profane description of his call girls in its heyday may well have been about a completely different frontman. Neil's voice not take over; he walked through "Girls, Girls, Girls" without the seasoning of the underworld found in the recorded version, and called for zero force when needed, shanking whole verse melody of the ballad prom "Without You".

Moreover, drummer Tommy Lee Canyon although as an excavator, when the song screamed for him to lay back. Whacking his kit at 11 at all times, offered no shade. Dio "Smokin 'in the Boys Room" shuffling, but no swing, and even metal burners vertigo as "Live Wire" called for a limberness he could not muster.

But it's not like Mötley Crüe going to start becoming a better band at this stage, and the single relentless riff of "Looks That Kill" and burn hard rubber "Kickstart My Heart" generates some solid momentum. By the time the concert ended on a satellite stage in the audience with "Home Sweet Home" Mötley Crüe had blown past the curfew place, something that his fans probably knew much about in high school.

Armed with a clearly delighted to have achieved the concert and determined to work hard and not mess up, Alice Cooper, who played before sharp band was all Mötley Crüe was not: tough and threatening, but fun, and crap (although a one-stage) that gave songs a genuine kick. If he was not as agile as his younger self, his showmanship remained, from moments of great show like transform into a giant, clumsy puppet-monster Frankenstein's and later being guillotined apparently deranged remains just mocking character directly .

The sound of two guitars of Raskins opened the concert, vacuum delivery, reactionary hard rock.

Mötley Crüe Shout At The Devil One Last Time

All bad things must end touring band gave fans quite the farewell Toronto last night. Opener Alice Cooper gave a masterful performance, too ...

If All Bad Things Must End tour is truly the final hurray for Hollywood heavy-metal mavens Mötley Crüe, then it was quite the farewell gave their fans Sunday night at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre.

For two hours on the nose, the 33-year-old quartet singer Vince Neil, 53; guitarist Mick Mars, 63; bassist Nikki Sixx, 55, and drummer Tommy Lee, 51, personified the notion that excess makes the heart grow fonder. I could never have enough explosions flashpot eardrum-breaking; no shortage of shooting plumes of fire; no limit in the showers of fireworks raining down on the stage for the band to feel they were doing anything less than a disservice to more than 16,000 filled the place.

With their amps they went to "11" (and my second point of view section, the instruments always high enough to wash over sharp ridge of Neil), these dukes of debauchery spared no expense on the visual heavy pyrotechnic up such an extent that his two female harmony singers and dancers with long legs and busty often change their costumes.

And the public, perhaps anxious in this era of political correctness musically to cut loose and be transported back in time to relive their fantasies of heavy metals - or maybe just realized that this could be a historic occasion as to Crüe final appearance in Toronto - the love returned tenfold.

With some of the men who wore wigs and some throwback women squeezing in low-cut dresses she wore for the first time for decades that partied like it was the 80s glam-metal scene again, singing at the party top of your lungs with Neil for "Wild side", dancing in their seats and on top of each other during the "Shout at The Devil", hoisting their glasses of beer and high-fiving each other in the great celebration of witness their antiheroes in action.

"How many of you out there you are crazy mother * $%! Res?" Asked rhetorically Neil almost to the point of the series 20-track half way, as if I knew the answer I would get.

Neil and Sixx - the old account that looked long enough in the tooth to give up the glamor makeup of his youth, the latter ignoring that same lesson - spent time stalking the stage and work the crowd, leaving Mars worrying thick chugging riffs and leads anthems like "Dr. Feelgood" and "Kickstart My Heart" and Lee pound out rhythms giant elevator.

And yes, according to tradition, solo Lee was to be attached to "The Cobra", a long subject, steel neck that allowed the battery to slide to the top of the stage, turned 360 degrees, and you to demonstrate their gravity-defying stick handling skills . . . although, to his credit, played along with pre-recorded instead of the usual exhibition of 180 beats per second that the batteries are prone to making music.

Another highlight was about Nikki Sixx as he unapologetically colorful and told the story of the birth of Mötley Crüe, expressing gratitude for "being alive", although his version of events ignores some of the rough edges after the band endured and ultimately survived.

There was bad blood spilled tonight, and that the band took its final bow on a small b-stage in the middle of the crowd serenaded with "Home Sweet Home", one wonders if this is the final or just a short break on the way to Reunionville.

It is with no small sense of irony that his warm-up act, the eternally ageless and legendary Alice Cooper, is celebrating its 50 years of unofficially in music, and shows no signs of slowing.

In fact, the old Black Eyes seems to be improving with age, making a tight set of 13 songs that focused on his series of early 70s rock anthems - "Hello Hooray", "No More Mr. Nice Guy "and" I'm Eighteen "among them - and an emphasis on theater forever.

With a tight five-piece band with three guitarists, including Nita Strauss, Cooper appeared with a red-striped suit and spats. Before the next 50 minutes were over, I'd be wearing a lab coat, a straitjacket, a boa constrictor (and man, the snake was huge!) Being attacked by a zombie nurse, transforms into a giant Frankenstein's monster, and loses his head through the guillotine.

It was a masterful performance, and something of a homecoming for the star born in Detroit, the Toronto connection, producer Bob Ezrin, was recognized in silence for the end of "out of school" that segued into Pink Floyd "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2), "Ezrin both productions.

So while Mötley Crüe grinds to an end in early 2015, Alice Cooper becomes Dorian Gray. Something tells me this may not be the last we see of this heterogeneous group.

Motley Crue Urge Action In Support Of Indie Labels

A digital picture showdown between YouTube and independent labels has attracted the attention of Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, who is urging fans of the band to pay attention to a conflict that could have a significant and lasting impact on the music discovery in line.

Sixx posted your request on the band Facebook page, writing, "Red Alert: Motley Crue was on an independent label (we started) and later signed with a major after seeing what we already knew about ourselves.Eventually took our teachers (and power) again and have been indie since then .... Please read below ... You need to read the WHOLE .......... bands and labels need a level playing field... Please comment ... intelligent ... This is an important moment in music. "

That post pointed fans to an article in the New York Times explains the brewing battle between YouTube and a faction of independent labels who are reluctant to sign new license terms considered unfavorable - and now reportedly runs the risk that her videos (and accompanying ad revenue) blocked in retaliation. In regards to some viewers, that any company has enough muscle to play this kind of hard on artists online is a problem - and a repudiation of the initial promise of the web opening.

Alison Wenham, chief executive of the Independent Network Worldwide Director, made a provocative analogy human rights, says the Times, "The growth of the Internet, which would be a utopian leveling the playing field, a democratization of all what is actually happening is a form of cultural apartheid "Wenham also criticized the agreement in a separate interview with the paper, calling it" not a fair way of doing business "and accusing YouTube of" [looking] to hurt and punish innocent labels and musicians -. Innocent and their fans -. Order to pursue their ambitions "

Despite the protest, says the NYT that YouTube have reached an agreement with "95 percent" of its brand partners, which is the corporate code "this is happening, like it or not." As the Times points out, this kind of scorched earth war between distributors and content creators is a clear byproduct of consolidation - and as anyone who witnessed the will to fight Amazon with book publishers and movie studios understand, we probably only be seeing more of these confrontations in the future.

Motley Crue's Tommy Lee To Drum On Smashing Pumpkins Record

Smashing Pumpkins have revealed a guest artist to play in the nine songs from his upcoming LP Monument to an Elegy: Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. " Yes, that Tommy Lee ," said the website of The Smashing Pumpkins , with a photo of Lee flashing devil horns with Billy Corgan in front of a mixer . “Here’s a picture of the mission in the west," said the title with a “Schocka -locka -boom “additional for punctuation.

The Best Songs Smashing Pumpkins, chosen by the readers of Rolling Stone

In late April, Corgan wrote his letter on the site, celebrating the fact that he had finished writing the album, "unless I manage to write another corker in the next month.” He included the track list is proposed in the message. Monument to an Elegy is one of Smashing Pumpkins will release two records in 2015.

Tommy Lee, meanwhile, remains busy in the months before the glam metal group embarks on his farewell tour in July. The four members of Mötley Crüe signed a “cessation of the tour" in January legally binding agreement promising not to meet for another tour. "We've always had a vision of a bitch out with a bang and not playing county fairs and clubs with one or two original members of the band," Lee said at the time. "Our work here is done.”
As for the document itself, bassist Nikki Sixx told Rolling Stone that is no joke. "We had worked on it with corporate counsel for a long time going through everything and make sure she was okay," he said. “But there is no backup now .... At that time, all members of the band will make their own creative things, but there will be times when you will lose this But we're not there -... No tears yet. "

NIKKI SIXX Slams GODSMACK For 'Begging' To Appear On MÖTLEY CRÜE Bassist's Radio Show

Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has slammed GODSMACK for allegedly “begging” to appear on the Sixx " Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx " radio show to promote the upcoming studio album from the band Masachusetts .

Nikki tweeted last night : "So @ Godsmack @ begged to be in Sixxsense to promote her new album Good fucking luck phonebooths tours Whos crying like a bitch now .. ? "

Comments Sixx were undoubtedly fueled by his ongoing war of words with GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna , who apparently wrote the song of the band " Cryin 'Like A Bitch" on Sixx after the two players clashed during the Crüe 2009 Fest 2 tour , which Godsmack was a support act and Crüe was the headliner.

When asked directly if the song was written about Sixx , Erna told Albany radio station Q103 New York, "It's hard for me not to answer that question, because as honest as I would be , the other side of me does not want to give anyone the additional exposure , even if it is negative. So, I'll plead the fifth. "

In May 2011, Sixx had the following to say regarding complaints Erna about Godsmack was treated in the tour Crüe Fest 2 : " Every person - from road crew , fans and even all the bands on the tour ( including band [ Sully ] ) - was so happy, but [ Erna ] just seems to be crying like a bitch , " Sixx said . " Funny, even his manager told me that he is an idiot ... Maybe the problem is just in your head ... I have no problem with it. "

Erna admitted in a webisode for album of the band of fifth studio album, "The Oracle”, that “Cryin 'Like a Bitch “was inspired by the events of Crüe Fest 2. Sully told Artisan News Service at the time, "It has definitely been some rock - star garbage on this tour we've never seen in our career ...

This was the first time I felt like, ' If you know what to be some people who are going to treat others a certain way, then I'll go out there every night and ... make sure that we look old and fat, and go home with a nice big fat check. "

Samples of some of the lyrics in "Cryin 'Like A Bitch" include lines like: “Strut on by like a king / Telling everybody they know nothing / Long lived what you thought you were / Time is not more on their side "

Speaking to Tricia Weight (aka A Geek Girl ) "Interviews From The Edge" during the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival 2011 , Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin said about the inspiration for " Cryin 'Like A Bitch" , " Various things really happened [ during the tour ] , really.

“You know, the rest of the band ... we get along very well with [other members of Motley Crue ] Mick Mars , Tommy Lee. Along very well with me Nikki Sixx. Fact, he had called me once and catering said I like to play with your SIXX: ‘Yeah! ' AM [ side project ] , on record and I was like ,

but this was, like, three weeks after the tour, and then four weeks later , he and Sully had this clash . Emerged and safety [Mötley Crüe], I think, more than Nikki, but you know, Nikki is the leader of the band.

"Basically, [it had to do with her] safety throws us off the stage ... whatever ... It was a lot of shit that none of us really got into. Mötley Crüe But kind of acted like that.... Well, their safety in any case ...

it was real strange with our clients get between racks, just like our customers might want to look at Mötley Crüe. Guests were there to see us and do not give a shit Mötley Crue. Mötley Crüe and is a legendary band that we all respect.

“When I was 17, I had ' Shout at the Devil ' and all that, hell yeah! But only some of us with some facade that they think our guests would be star struck by them. And half the time these were people I've known for 30 years - [and] cannot even get backstage because Mötley Crüe does not want people back or whatever.

“So that's where the bad blood came. Sully and then runs his mouth, Nikki runs his mouth ... Both are great rock stars. Next thing you know, it's a battle in the press. "

MICK MARS: New MÖTLEY CRÜE Single Release To Coincide With Launch Of 'The Final Tour'

Mötley Crüe hosted a press conference on January 28 at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles,

where it was announced that the band will release their "Final Tour" later this year, with the planning group to play 72 shows in North America in 2014 and abroad in 2015.

So it's official, the four members of the band had his lawyer draw up a “cessation of the tour " formal agreement to enter into force in late 2015 and prohibits members of the group to go on the road again under Mötley Crüe flag.

No mention of whether the CRUE record a new album to go along with the tour was done, although the group alluded to the possibility.

During an appearance on the March 3 edition of the show Eddie Trunk " Trunk Nation " on SiriusXM Hair Nation , Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars revealed: "

I just wrote a new song with Nikki [ Sixx , bassist for Mötley Crüe ] , and we will can end up , like , in the next couple of months. Will be a new single [released in time for the upcoming tour]. "

Sixx in January said it is unlikely that the band will release a new full-length album of new material and instead make select tracks available through special projects in order to maximize their impact.

“My take on it right now and the way things work is returned back to the 60's where people buy singles,"
said Mars Trunk. "I do not want a disc full of fillers. Which is why I said I was going to release [alone] EP or singles. "

Sixx told the Rapid City, South Dakota radio station 95.1 KSKY: "We have written music, [but] not yet we made .”

He added: "It is difficult , to be honest with you , to spend six [or ] nine months to write eleven songs - all those letters ... all ... the voices , guitars , bass, Sonics , mixing, mastering, artwork ... You put out and nothing [ happens ] because now people cherry -picking songs. So come on,

' Why do not we write songs and find vehicles for one, two or four songs to ten million people instead of eleven songs to hundreds of thousands. This is how we're thinking. I do not know if it's good or bad, but that's what we're thinking. "

Mötley Crüe in 2012 released a new song
called " Sex" to coincide with the launch of the North American co - headlining tour with the band KISS.

Written when the group was together during their residency in Las Vegas in February 2012, "Sex" was the first track of study CRUE since its launch in June 2008 of "Saints of Los Angeles”. The song was recorded in studio Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee called The Atrium in Calabasas, California.

25 years ago: Cheap Trick plays AC/DC With Motley Crue At The Coliseum

Twenty-five years ago tomorrow - on February 24, 1989 Trick - Cheap played the Pacific Coliseum on a bill with Eddie Money , so obviously I went .

Even with Eddie Money on the bill.

Here is my review of the issue of the next week straight . Check it out while you're waiting for the hockey game to start maybe.

In the late '70s, one of the favorite pastimes of this scribbler was throwing album In Color Cheap Trick on the turntable and start 'er up. Fund rockin power- pop band was just the right brain lubricant between heavy sets of exam cramming .
In the Coliseum last Friday was great to see that there is still beautiful sound of the band.

After a forgettable performance by Eddie Money opening that featured musicianship seedy , weak voices , energy and anything, tricksters have things in the right way with the first of their latest album, In the Lap of luxury. Guitarist Rick Nielsen , with his wild antics , powerful looks awkward and lame - remains the star of the show even though it lacks the sex appeal of singer Robin Zander and bassist Tom Petersson . His ringing bell ingenious harmonic effect sounded great as the intro to " The clock strikes ten," a tune that Bun E. Carlos pounding steadily along with rapid fire drums . Carlos still looks like a bad accountant, but has left the chain rotten habit - smoking on stage.

Like other supergroups of the 70s, such as Aerosmith and Blue Oyster Cult , Cheap Trick went down for a period when their albums were not up to snuff . They had essentially disappeared from memory before storming back with the ballad hit, "The Flame" . And judging by the latest single from the band, "I never had much to lose," Cheap Trick has become a little winning sound that old. But it was still crunchy favorites like "Dream Police ," " California Man " and especially "Surrender ," which won the most applause from the 4,300 fans in attendance.

In a moment Rick Nielsen asked the crowd what they viewed video station here in Canada, and found out that it was MuchMusic . Then he asked why people looked, and answered himself : "It is because occasionally play well things like Aerosmith, Motley Crue and Cheap Trick , right Debbie Gibson and Tiffany can be re K -Mart ? " .

The crowd liked that , and he also liked when three members - Motley Crue city to record their fifth album Long walked on stage to participate in a repeat of the ode of AC / DC ' s for the fast life, "Highway to Hell . " The two bands joined in that song again later that night at the Soda Club , which also stuck in the classic " Train Kept a Rollin ", " Girls , Girls , Girls" by Motley, and version of Cheap Trick Elvis ' No Cruel " .

Cheap Trick is still at it - without Bun E. Carlos , however. In fact play River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond on March 1 , and I bet they'll play "Surrender" .

Take Aim: Amy Sciarretto vs. Mötley Crüe's Mick Mars

Mötley Crüe will spend the next two years in their final tour . Even signed a legally binding contract to show that they are serious . They go to his head. Do not expect any means ass in the air, tours three meeting rooms in two or three years. We grabbed some time with guitarist Mick Mars to find out the skinny .
The contract he signed at a press conference - is actually binding or can rip it and piss on it and walk back ?
It is very legal and very binding. We had different lawyers help draw up in our words and is legal. If we I try to do something , you could be sued . If I went and did Mötley Crüe without the other guys , they could sue .
What will you do next? Or are you going to wait and find out then?
You have a few things on fire , you know? I write ads. I could do things for movies. Always seek musical fragments car chases and spare scary monsters . I will write with [former Crüe singer ] John Corabi to your friends. With Twiggy, well , Marilyn Manson. I have lots of things I want to do and people who want to write me!
That is awesome. Will you be dragging songs that have not played in a while for this tour?
I'm sure of that. What I am sure of all the hits that you go to a concert , like AC / DC does not play " Balls to the Wall ' , you get disappointed . Going to play the hits and songs that we have not touched on long time.

Why now is the right time for Mötley Crüe to bounce ?
I think it is the right time to call it a day . We are at the pinnacle of our career and we are still on top. We do not want to fall under , and playing small clubs , two or three people. That's not good. We decided to go to the top and be remembered as that.
We doubt that it would be so small of an audience , but it's smart to leave on a high note . Who was the idea?
All of us . We sat and talked to do not as a farewell tour , but this is the last tour. You will not see Mötley Crüe again .
Do not you think there will be the desire to do it again?
It will never happen. It is a binding contract. Like how you never see the Beatles again. It is final.
What about this situation? What if you were inducted into the Hall of Fame Rock and Roll?
Well, if that happens ... cool.
We have ... no more tours .
... As a band, and touring , that never , never happen again. We made a promise to ourselves . We signed documents.
Favorite memory alive Mötley Crüe live or place to play?
Every time I play , I have the best weather , no matter where I am. I can be playing in a field and a generator and have the time of my life.
Famous last words , at least for this chat?
I know this is going to be the highest above what we have done and you know how we are.
